Why shouldn't I advertise my bike somewhere else?
All bikes offered on Velocorner should actually be available. If you would also offer your bike elsewhere, we would have a lot of "dead advertising".
We do not want that. And it is not necessary that you advertise your bike directly on another platform. We do that for you. But sharing Velocorner links on social media is not only allowed, but desired. -
Why do I have to give the frame number?
We employ a rigorous verification process to ensure the authenticity and reliability of all bikes listed on our platform. This process involves examining official documents such as receipts and buying contracts, as well as verifying the frame number provided for bikes.
Frame numbers serve as a reliable and secure means of checking whether the bicycle has ever been reported as stolen. -
What if the bike I sell has been stolen?
Don't panic. If we recognize that your bike has been reported stolen, we will inform you and advise you on how to proceed. -
What happens if I give false information?
We take false frame numbers in particular very seriously.
Because one of our main concerns is to stop the trade with stolen bikes. If you give false information, it is tantamount to fraud (even if it is an unintentional mistake). If a buyer complains to us, we may have to ask you to refund the money and take the bike back. Please make sure to enter all information correctly. -
What should I do if I can't find my ad?
Make sure that you have filled in all the necessary information about your bike. We also ask you to log in with your correct account so that you can find your ad. If you have any problems, please send an email to [email protected].
Selling Process
-
What happens when my bike is reserved?
A reservation ensures that an interested party essentially has a "right of first refusal" on your bike. We have received the amount of 20% of your desired sales price in our deposit account and will process this further depending on how things go. -
How long is the bike reserved?
The bike is reserved for a flexible period, typically ranging from 5 to 10 days, and occasionally up to 14 days. We coordinate with both parties to ensure a suitable timeframe and smooth transaction. -
What happens if the customer doesn't show up?
If the customer doesn't show up, we cancel the reservation, refund the amount, and automatically relist the item for you. This ensures a fair and efficient process for both sellers and buyers. -
What do I have to do if the interested part does not like my bike?
Ask her/him to cancel the order. This will make your bike available again. -
Do I have to deliver the bike anywhere?
You can choose how far you are willing to deliver at your own expense. A greater distance will bring you more interested parties, but you risk having to travel far for nothing. Tip: The more expensive the bike, the bigger the radius should be. But always calculate with the delivery costs. -
When transferring my bike to the new owner, what essential steps should I take?
Ensure that the buyer acknowledges the handover directly on-site, using the order view. If no one has a smartphone, the confirmation can be sent later from home. If the process is delayed or if any issues arise, reach out to us via chat, and we'll handle everything for you.
Payments
-
How will I get paid?
We make payments directly to your bank account. To provide payment details, please visit your personal account. -
When do I get the money?
When you hand over the bike and the buyer confirms this, we release the money. The transfer usually takes no more than one to two business days. -
I handed over the bike but did not receive my money. What should I do?
This has never happened before. If it does happen, please contact us via chat, e-mail or phone. We will deal with the problem as soon as possible. -
Can I be paid cash?
While cash payment for the second part of the amount is technically possible, we are strongly against using it. Online payments are a much safer way to receive a payment, which can protect you from potential risks.
