The Tallboy has always been the efficient, short-travel bike in the Santa Cruz lineup. The sixth generation now comes with less weight and a completely new suspension concept. For those who enjoy long rides with maximum efficiency and appreciate noticeably more reserves downhill, the Tallboy is the consistent choice in the 29-inch trail segment.
The newly developed CC carbon frame weighs about 300 grams less than the predecessor model and for the first time features a four-bar linkage (Horst-Link) instead of the VPP system typically used by Santa Cruz. Up front, a RockShox Pike Select fork provides 140 mm of travel, while a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock offers 130 mm in the rear. Shifting is done mechanically via the SRAM Eagle 90 T-Type transmission, and the wheels consist of Reserve 30|TR aluminum rims with DT hubs. A geometry flip chip and the revised Glovebox V2 storage compartment complete the equipment. Size: L.
For ambitious touring riders looking for a lightweight, efficient 29-inch bike with noticeably more reserves downhill, the Tallboy 90 is a convincing option.
