The Chisel is the lightest and fastest fully suspended Cross Country bike ever made. It is 18.4% lighter than its nearest competitor and offers a noticeably powerful performance. Thanks to the advanced kinematics and geometry of the Epic 8, combined with the innovative D’Aluisio Smartweld technology, riders can push their limits on speed metal or simply enjoy an incredible time on their hometown trails.
SPEED METAL: The D’Aluisio Smartweld not only gives the Chisel its lightweight structure but also unmatched handling and ride characteristics. Each aluminum tube is specifically shaped for its position in the frame, featuring varying wall thicknesses. This allows for targeted manipulation of stiffness and compliance for efficiency, comfort, and control.
PROGRESSIVE METALCORE: The Chisel, with its 110 mm rear suspension travel tuned for Ride Dynamics, is related to the Epic 8, our racing machine for the World Cup. It shares performance features such as advanced kinematics, suspension with Ride Dynamics tuning, and progressive geometry finely honed for the World Cup. The Chisel effortlessly handles diverse terrain and instills confidence, enabling riders to truly shine.
POWER METAL: The Chisel surprises with its incredible pedaling efficiency thanks to the geometry and kinematics derived from our World Cup-winning Epic 8. This makes it the most efficient fully suspended aluminum XC bike. The steep seat angle positions the rider centrally on the bike for optimal power transfer, while the perfected anti-squat minimizes pedal bob. Every watt generated at the pedals translates into maximum acceleration.
MORE GROOVE METAL: We have equipped the Chisel with flexible stays for maximum suspension performance. This, along with the D’Aluisio Smartweld design that reduces weight, significantly decreases maintenance efforts for the rear end. Extensive field and lab tests have shown that the Chisel achieves what was previously thought impossible. While flexible stays have mostly been reserved for carbon bikes, the Chisel keeps pace with its uniquely shaped aluminum in terms of efficiency, control, and low weight.
NO HEAVY METAL: The Chisel features a hydroformed seat tube that integrates the pivot point of the rocker, the main pivot, and, uniquely, the bottom bracket shell. This approach saves additional material and weight compared to traditional bikes, where pivot points and bottom bracket shells are welded onto the seat tube.
