The Chisel is the lightest and fastest full-suspension cross-country bike of all time. It is 18.4% lighter than the next competitor and delivers noticeably intense performance. Thanks to the advanced kinematics and geometry of the Epic 8 combined with the innovative D’Aluisio Smartweld technology, riders can push their limits on speed metal between the tape or simply enjoy a fantastic time on their home trails.
SPEED METAL: D’Aluisio Smartweld not only gives the Chisel its low weight but also its unmatched handling and riding characteristics. Each aluminum tube has been specially shaped for its position in the frame and features varying wall thicknesses. This allows us to strategically utilize stiffness and compliance for efficiency, comfort, and control.
PROGRESSIVE METALCORE: The Chisel, with 110 mm of rear suspension travel in the Ride Dynamics Tune, is related to the Epic 8, our racing machine for the World Cup. It shares performance features such as advanced kinematics, suspension with Ride Dynamics Tune, and the progressive geometry honed for the World Cup. The Chisel effortlessly handles diverse terrain and builds confidence for riders to take on challenges.
POWER METAL: The Chisel impresses with unbelievable pedaling efficiency, thanks to the geometry and kinematics of our World Cup-winning Epic 8. This makes it the most efficient full-suspension XC bike made of aluminum. The steep seat angle positions the rider centrally on the bike for optimal power transfer, and the perfected anti-squat reduces pedal bobbing. The Chisel converts every watt at the pedals into maximum acceleration.
GROOVE METAL: We have equipped the Chisel with flexible stays for maximum suspension performance. This, along with the D’Aluisio Smartweld design, which reduces weight, greatly lessens the maintenance needs of the rear end. Extensive field and lab tests have shown that the Chisel has achieved the impossible. While flex stays have typically been reserved for carbon bikes, the Chisel, with its specially shaped aluminum, can easily compete in terms of efficiency, control, and low weight.
NO HEAVY METAL: The Chisel features a hydroformed seat tube that integrates the pivot point of the rocker, the main pivot point, and, innovatively, the bottom bracket shell. This design saves additional material and weight compared to a traditional bike where pivot points and bottom bracket shells are welded onto the seat tube.
