A real UCI race bike: under 10 kg, high-end equipment, and a story that's more interesting than "went to the bakery on Sunday." With a heavy heart, I am selling my Orbea Oiz LTD Carbon, model year 2022, originally from the bike inventory of Swiss MTB pro Ariane Lüthi – 5-time Cape Epic winner, 5-time Swiss champion, and medalist at World and European Championships. I took over the bike from Ariane in 2023; the provenance is documented through personal correspondence. This Oiz comes from her last racing season in 2022. BikePerfect featured Ariane Lüthi's then Oiz with a special setup: [hidden] The setup is still impressive today: RockShox SID SL Ultimate / SIDLuxe, SRAM XX1 AXS, Quarq Powermeter, SRAM Level Ultimate, Scope Carbon wheels, XTR pedals, and Racing Ralph. How does it ride? The first grin comes when lifting it. Under 10 kg including full suspension, powermeter, and dropper is quite a [hidden] the trail: brutal acceleration, direct handling, and real pull uphill. Thanks to the suspension and dropper, it remains a true MTB downhill and not a nervous carbon grasshopper that questions its life choices at the first root carpet. Ideal for XC, marathon, fast tours – and for anyone who prefers to overtake uphill rather than collect excuses. Condition? Technically flawless. The frame and rear triangle show visible signs of use and paint [hidden] were already present when I took over the bike from Ariane. According to Ariane, the more noticeable marks were caused by the bike falling over while parked; the carbon frame was not damaged in the process. The Scope carbon wheels are in very nice condition, with no known damages, deep scratches, or pinch [hidden], to be completely transparent: not a museum piece, not a poser, but an honest high-end race bike with real bike life. Those looking for a former pro bike without scratches will probably be happier in the Playmobil section. 😉 Why am I letting it go? Unfortunately, the rider has become the limiting factor, not the bike. My mind still craves full throttle, but my knees and medical reason lead to a different discussion. Doctor recommends avoiding strong performance spikes and not pushing over about 400 [hidden] a sub-10-kg race bike and intending to be "very reasonable" on every climb works for me about as reliably as "I'll just take a quick look at bike offers." Before the Oiz becomes very expensive garage decoration, it should go to someone who will do again what it was built for: ride, attack, grin, repeat – maybe even with a race number again. CHF 4'950.– VB I know the value of the bike. Please no bazaar offers. Viewing and test ride by appointment.
