The Status 160 presents a completely new way to think about having maximum fun on two wheels, even if that means using wheels of different sizes. The 29-inch front wheel provides optimal traction in corners and excellent rollover characteristics, while the 27.5-inch rear wheel allows for shorter chainstays and enhances the downhill experience. Combined with our playful mixed-wheel-size trail geometry, this results in pure enjoyment. Whether it's bike parks, trail rides, or just having a blast, we've enhanced the fun factor of the Status 160 with robust brakes, an X-Fusion Manic dropper post, the Fox FLOAT 36 Rhythm fork, and a FLOAT X Performance shock – it’s the first frame equipped with everything needed to keep the good times rolling. Plus, it features our proven active FSR suspension system.
The Status, designed entirely for fun with its mixed-wheel trail geometry, is free of any unnecessary frills and impresses with the FSR rear triangle system made from our durable and resilient M5 aluminum. It not only absorbs hits but also begs for more challenges.
The FLOAT 36 Rhythm fork from Fox with a Grip damper delivers an impressively controlled ride with plenty of trail feel. The two-position sweep adjustment ensures that the FLOAT 36 Rhythm makes the most of the 160 mm of travel in almost any terrain, while the 36 mm stanchions provide ample stiffness for precise handling at the limits.
This high-quality setup generates significant speed on the trails. To help bring that speed to a halt, we've equipped the bike with the reliable Code R brakes from SRAM. Forged four-piston brake calipers deliver strong braking power, while 200 mm rotors front and rear eliminate any fading concerns.
