With our shock linkage via the lower linkage and an updated adjustable geometry, this "Engineering Best Of..." merges some of our finest tunes into the perfect trail partner. Since its introduction, the Hightower has been our most versatile trail bike. It is more agile than its larger suspension counterpart, the Megatower, yet more adept in technical terrain than the nimble Tallboy. The Hightower excels on long, challenging trails where steep climbs reward you with genuine descents. The VPP shock, controlled by the lower linkage, creates an almost linear spring rate, absorbing impacts of all sizes while maintaining the progression that originally distinguished our V10 DH bike! With 145mm of rear travel and 150mm in the front, the Hightower now offers slightly more suspension than the first generation. Combined with a 65° head angle, the bike still provides a broad comfort zone but has a bit more reserve when you need to push the limits. The perfect balance between stiffness and weight savings is a hallmark of all Santa Cruz carbon frames, and the Hightower raises the bar even higher.
