The Free-Mountain Shop was founded in 2004 by Sascha Schmid and has been located at 43 Burgstrasse in Thun ever since. Our strength lies in the competence and passion that we bring to our daily work, whether it's a consultation, a bicycle repair, or an avalanche course in our beloved mountains.

As a Scott Testing Center, Trek Flagship Store, and Shimano Service Center, we place great importance on quality and content. Our diverse product range spans from e-bikes, racing bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes to vintage city bikes and children's bikes, and includes top brands such as Scott, Trek, Orbea, Focus, Diamant, and Kalkhoff. We specialize in selling and repairing bicycles, mopeds, scooters, and all their accessories. The workshop was built in 1983 by my predecessor, Georges Bender. The name "Chiron" was chosen when the construction company issued him the bill, titling it: Mr. Georges Bender, Garage "Chiron", 1963 Vétroz. It must be said that "Chiron" is also the name of the neighborhood where the garage is located in the heart of the old village. As for myself, I completed my apprenticeship at this company from 1986 to 1989. Afterward, my boss hired me to assist him. Over the years, a great familiarity developed between us, allowing me to take over the business smoothly when my predecessor retired.
