The system is controlled via a bicycle computer with a color LCD mounted on the handlebar (SC-E8000). The display is well visible, and data is shown at a glance while out in the field. It offers a range of metrics and customization options in conjunction with SHIMANO's E-Tube software (which is now Bluetooth and ANT compatible). Riders can switch between the Eco, Main, and High-Power modes while riding. In sections that cannot be ridden, the Power-Walk mode of the system comes into play. Gear changes are executed by the mechanical FIREBOLT shifters or Di2 switches in combination with the existing mechanical or Di2 components.
