Versatile tire, with an almost continuous central band for hard surfaces and lugs on the sides. On the road, they are much quieter than my Maxxis (and if I installed an Onyx hub to eliminate the buzzing from my freewheel, it's not to hear the rumbling of the lugs ;-) ). I've done some trails and downhill riding, and I haven't had any issues with grip. Certainly, in very muddy terrain, they will have less grip than larger lugs, but I prefer to ride in dry weather and I also ride a lot on the road or hard terrain, and here they perform much better and are more pleasant.
