Equipped with the new Shimano 105 Di2 12-speed system, which makes electronic shifting accessible to a wider audience, and paired with Turbo Pro 700x26mm tires that roll smoothly, this Tarmac delivers high performance at a more affordable price. While aerodynamics played a key role in the Tarmac's design—as it does for all our race bikes—weight was considered equally important. Traditionally, "aero bikes" compromised weight for reduced drag, but the new Tarmac maintains or falls below the UCI weight limit straight out of the box, without sacrificing aerodynamic efficiency. Thanks to the FreeFoil Shape Library and advanced engineering techniques, we crafted a frame that weighs just 920 grams, preserving aerodynamics, stiffness, and ride quality. In our ongoing mission to create the ultimate race bike, we applied our Rider-First Engineered™ approach to ensure the new Tarmac offers the best handling and balance ever, regardless of size. Utilizing feedback from elite test riders from our World Tour Teams—Boels-Dolmans, Deceuninck-Quick-Step, and Bora-hansgrohe—we refined the Tarmac after extensive road testing. We achieved a well-balanced ride quality between the front and rear, ensuring even the longest rides remain comfortable, without compromising the bike's renowned handling and quick responsiveness. Leveraging insights from the Venge, the new Tarmac features straightforward integration for a tidy, efficient cockpit that enhances usability. We improved cable routing for various configurations—mechanical shifting, traditional stems, round handlebars, etc.—while retaining its aerodynamic benefits. This design makes the new Tarmac convenient for maintenance and travel, leading to positive outcomes all around.
